1. I am having problems reading the numbers on
the screen when the image is projected.
Answer
Often times projectors have lower resolution
than the screen on your computer. Check the
resolution of the projector.
You should also see if the projector has the
capability of receiving Digital Video Input
which often yields a clearer image at the same
resolution.
2. How do I learn about the utility to convert
NetPoint files to Primavera P6 files?
Answer
The utility for converting NetPoint files to
compatible and importable P6 files requires a
three-step process. First from within NetPoint,
files are exported to Primavera, which creates a
scripting definition (SDEF) file. The SDEF file
is then converted by a Primavera conversion
program that outputs an XML coding rules (XER)
file, readable by Primavera 6.0 or later
versions. Next, the XER file is imported by an
option within Primavera. While this process is
still under development, progress is sufficient
to indicate that a flawless transfer of data is
near completion.
3. Why can't I install the Evaluation Copy?
Answer
If you are unable to download and/or install
NetPoint, temporarily disable any firewalls,
anti-virus software, pop-up blockers, download
accelerators and make sure your login credential
has sufficient privileges to install software on
your local computer. If you are still unable to
download and/or install NetPoint, please contact
your systems administrator to see if your
computer is behind any system wide firewall or
network appliance that could be preventing this
type of download or installation from happening.
4. Why do my activities appear to be
overlapping?
Answer
There are usually two different causes for
overlapping activity display. If the overlapping
is due to the activity content, edit the
activity descriptions to fit better or decrease
the font size. If the overlapping is due to the
number of activities in one area, try any of the
following: 1) add more space between the
overlapping activities by moving them to another
grid line using the up and down arrow keys; 2)
increase the grid size by selecting
Options>Alignment Grid>Change Grid Size; 3)
increase the page size in Print Setup for a
larger canvas and grid spacing; or 4) set a
larger custom page size and print to Adobe
Acrobat creating a PDF that can be scaled or
tiled by your printer.
5. Why is the plan difficult to read on my
computer screen?
Answer
This may be due to your screen resolution. You
will need a minimum setting of 1024x768. Screen
resolution settings can be found in the control
panel of your computer (Start>Control Panel).
6. Why can't I select a diagonal link?
Answer
The diagonal links must be clicked on the
horizontal or vertical portions to be selected.
If this proves difficult, zoom in until you can
see the horizontal or vertical portion and
select it.
7. Why is my NetPoint plan not fully displayed?
Answer
A NetPoint plan will open in the default letter
size, regardless of how it was previously
formatted. If the plan was created in a size
other than the default letter size, you will
receive a message when opening the plan with the
intended page size. If you receive this message
you need to change the Print Setup to the
intended page size. Once the page size has been
reset to the indicated size you can use the
scroll bars to navigate to previously unseen
portions of the plan.
8. Why can't I copy and paste activities and
links into a new plan?
Answer
NetPoint does allow you to copy and paste from
one plan to another. However, the activities
must fit into the new plan timescale or you will
not be able to paste them. Check the dates of
the activities you want to copy, and adjust the
new plan calendar so they will fit.
9. When I project my plan, how can I make it
clearer?
Answer
You will need a minimum screen resolution
setting of 1024x768. Screen resolution settings
can be found in the control panel of your
computer (Start>Control Panel).
10. What is the Print Tiling capability?
Answer
Print Tiling allows maximum flexibility in print
size and can print up to 50 vertical pages and
50 horizontal pages. The Print Tiling and Print
Setup features are independent and must be
set/reset independently.
